Job summary

Cooley LLP in Washington, DC seeks an Associate Development Manager to support staffing, utilization, integration and development of associates within the Cyber/Data/Privacy Group.

Working with practice group leaders, Legal Talent and Professional Development, you will monitor workloads, manage assignments, lead performance reviews, and help onboard new hires while guiding mentoring and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct experience with staffing and work allocation in a large law firm or professional services organization

Responsibilities

• Manage staffing for associates across the group and monitor workloads
• Coordinate with practice group leaders to allocate new matters equitably
• Track associate metrics, availability and utilization to support productivity goals
• Support performance reviews and feedback delivery with leadership and HR teams
• Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and development initiatives for associates
• Collaborate on talent management programs and training initiatives
