Job summary

Canam Bridges, US, Inc. is seeking a QC Inspector to ensure compliance with AWS, CWB, and QA standards across welded products. Responsibilities include spot checking weld procedures, documenting inspections, and supporting production with quality assurance throughout the shop.

The role requires a CWI, substantial welding experience, and the ability to read shop drawings. Daily communication with production leads and QA management will be essential, along with the potential to train new staff.

Qualifications

• CWI Required.
• Five years welding experience.
• Read measuring tape in imperial and metric.
• Read and interpret work orders and shop drawings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Read and speak English.
• Experience in Structural Steel operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welded product for compliance with codes, AWS, CWB, and QA manual.
• Monitor welding procedures on a spot check basis and record results.
• Complete the Inspection and Test Plan.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections (excluding finished welds).
• Perform nondestructive testing if qualified.
• Document inspections on QC forms/drawings and communicate with production leads.
• Advise on quality issues and train new employees as needed.
