Job summary

Banner Health is actively seeking experienced CVOR Surgical Technologists for PRN opportunities at several Banner facilities. The role involves scrubbing on at least two surgical specialties, preparing instruments, and supporting surgeons during cardiovascular procedures.

The team emphasizes growth, training, and professional development in a fast-paced clinical setting. Applicants should have a Surgical Technologist certification and be registered where required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a surgical technologist role or 3–4 years in a similar role.
• Must be registered with the State Regulatory Agency where applicable.
• Proficient to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies and ensuring instruments are in good working order.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs by passing instruments and retracting tissue.
• Demonstrate aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures.
• Ensure surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
• Assist with OR turnover between cases; stock and replenish supplies; clean operating rooms.
• Participate in or lead training and orientation of surgical staff and students.
• May provide administrative support to the department.
