Job summary
UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced OR nurse to deliver professional care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will scrub and circulate, assist surgeons with hemostasis and suturing, and ensure rooms and equipment are ready for procedures.
A Diploma in Nursing and Alabama RN licensure are required, with BLS and ACLS/ALS as per policy, and a 6am-3pm schedule with call as needed. Join a leading health system providing exceptional patient care in a large academic medical environment.
Qualifications
- RN diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Alabama before hire date.
- BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; ACLS/ALS within 180 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting.
- Perform scrub functions: instrument and supply handling.
- Perform circulating functions: monitor and communicate patient condition, manage overall nursing care.
- Assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure.
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments for use.
