Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital in Temecula, CA, seeks a CVOR RN to perform initial assessments, discharge planning, and assist with cardio-thoracic procedures. Set up for cases and maintain sterility per AORN guidelines.

Requirements include 1 year OR experience, 2+ years CVOR circulation, active CA RN license, BLS/ACLS, with PALS/CNOR preferred. This role offers a challenging environment with growth opportunities within UHS and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• One year operating room experience in an acute care facility and/or surgery center.
• Minimum two years’ experience circulating for cardio-thoracic/coronary artery bypass surgery.
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Registered Nurse with current California RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS certification from American Heart Association
• Current PALS (AHA) preferred
• CNOR preferred

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse-CVOR performs initial assessment appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age, development level, and cultural and religious orientation.
• Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate. Performs interventions identified for each nursing diagnosis on the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
• Demonstrates the ability to assist the physician with procedures in the operating room, including cardio-thoracic surgery and coronary artery bypass surgery.
• Able to set-up for cases and maintain sterility in the operating room per AORN guidelines.
