Job summary

Mercy is seeking an experienced RN to provide high-quality patient care in a surgical setting. You will apply the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and coordinate closely with the surgical team to ensure safety and outcomes.

Uphold patient rights and confidentiality while adhering to Mercy Service Standards. The role requires RN licensure in Missouri (or compact), 6 months OR experience, and BLS certification or completion within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensed RN in the hiring state or compact licensure with active status.
• Minimum six months operating room experience; Level I nursing competency.
• Currently certified in Basic Life Support or completed within 30 days of hire.
• Unit-specific certifications may be required (as listed per position).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care with the surgical team and other departments.
• Uphold patient rights and confidentiality in all care activities.
• Maintain professional accountability and comply with Mercy Standards.

Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care with surgical team in collaboration with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Experience: Six months OR experience. Proficient in Level I requirements as defined per policy.
Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe:

• ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)

Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
