Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks an experienced perioperative nurse to collaborate with surgeons, optimize patient care, and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for procedures. You will train staff, update protocols, and participate in performance improvements to uphold care quality.

The role requires an RN license in Texas, BLS, and 4 years of perioperative OR experience; a BSN is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• Current Texas RN license to practice.
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification required.
• 4 years RN experience in an acute care OR or perioperative setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with surgeons to plan patient care and ensures equipment/supplies are ready before procedures.
• Trains and mentors staff for perioperative service.
• Arranges in-service for new equipment and supplies and maintains surgeon protocols.
• Provides information to manager/director on new supply and equipment needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
