Lutheran Health Network is seeking a Cardiovascular Operating Room Certified Surgical First Assistant (CVOR CSFA) to join our surgical team in Fort Wayne, IN. The role requires 1–3 years of CVOR experience and offers a sign-on bonus plus comprehensive benefits.

The CSFA/CSFA or CSA certification path is required, with BCLS, ACLS preferred. Expect full-time hours Monday–Friday with call/holiday/weekend rotation; position emphasizes patient safety, sterile technique, and teamwork in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Requires 1–3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in acute care.
• Certificate/Certification requirements: CST or CSFA/CSA and BCLS; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a scrub person, preparing sterile supplies and maintaining sterile field.
• Performs first assistant duties with exposure, suctioning, and sponging as directed.
• Dissects tissues, clamps vessels, controls bleeding, and places drains per surgeon instructions.
• Assists with wound closure and dressing according to surgeon instructions.
• Maintains sterility, conducts counting procedures, and complies with infection control protocols.
• Prepares and transports instruments for decontamination and sterilization.
• Supports post-procedure room turnover and prepares areas for next surgeries.
