Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our team. The role requires maintaining sterile fields, preparing instruments and equipment, and supporting safe, efficient surgical procedures across patient populations.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, BLS, and credential options (CST/NBSTSA/NCCT). 1+ CVOR experience is preferred. This full-time day-shift position offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Ability to consistently demonstrate clear communication skills, strong anticipatory skills, and concentration to detail.
• Assembly of mechanical devices, knowledge of surgical instrumentation, and fundamental human anatomy required.
• Must be able to work well with multiple team members.

Responsibilities

• Ensures required supplies, instruments, positioning devices, and equipment are available for all procedures.
• Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills, maintains patient confidentiality and interacts with all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Assists with appropriate preparation of instruments and equipment for decontamination or terminal sterilization as requested.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of aseptic technique and maintains a sterile field for each surgical procedure.
• Opens supplies aseptically and participates in process improvements.
• Participates in training new personnel and attends departmental in-services.

Job Description:

$15,000 Sign on Bonus (Eligibility Requirements Apply)

• Competency includes use and applications of appropriate routine and specialty instruments, room preparations, equipment selection and positioning devices, aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
• Assists with appropriate preparation of instruments and equipment for decontamination or terminal sterilization as requested.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and maintains a sterile field for each surgical procedure.
• Verifies exposure to sterilization and integrity of sterile packaging.

• I s committed to continuing education beyond basic knowledge required to fulfill job duties.
• Participates in training new personnel.
• Attends departmental in-services a minimum of 50% of the time as required by facility.
• Completes educational CBL's in a timely manner.
• Reports to work on time as scheduled and follows departmental attendance policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
