Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando is seeking a Surgical Technologist for PRN Day shifts. The role supports operative teams, prepares ORs, and ensures sterility and instrument handling throughout procedures.

The successful candidate will have 2+ years of technical experience and CVOR exposure, with formal Technical/Vocational School training. An Associate degree is preferred; BLS, CST certifications are expected per department requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of technical experience in a surgical setting is required.
• 2+ years of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience is required.
• Technical/Vocational School training or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients with supportive care during pre-operative phases.
• Collects and labels specimens obtained during surgical procedures.
• Conducts instrument counts prior to surgical procedures.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Ensures the operating room is sterile and maintains instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner and supports efficient OR turnover.

Job Description

• Conducts field preparation and maintenance.
• Ensures the operating room is sterile.
• Monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner.
• Assists the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times.
• Other duties as assigned.
