Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver care through the nursing process in an inpatient hospital setting. The role emphasizes independent judgment, growth, and development of clinical knowledge to meet age-specific needs of patients.

Qualified candidates will have an active RN license, BLS, and at least two years of RN experience. A BSN is preferred to advance clinical leadership and specialty care across the unit.

Qualifications

• Current RN license issued by the state where services are provided or multi-state license via eNLC.
• Basic Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of hire date.
• Two years of registered nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes patient diagnoses, problems, and mutual goals to meet patient and healthcare team needs.
• Serves as resource for patient and family learning needs.
• Coordinates with the interprofessional team to manage changing priorities.
• Acts as an independent team member to provide safe, quality care for consumers/patients.
• Mentors colleagues in acquiring clinical knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment.
• Leads interprofessional teams to collaborate and consult effectively.
