Job summary

Premier Hospital CVICU in Great Falls, MT seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This role emphasizes direct patient care, advanced cardiac monitoring, and collaborative practice with an experienced care team.

The position offers a 3x12s schedule on-site, strong nurse-to-patient ratios, and comprehensive benefits. External candidates may qualify for a $25,000 retention bonus to support a smooth transition into our clinical leadership environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Montana (or immediate compact/endorsement).
• Core certifications in BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Post-graduate ICU/CCU experience with cardiovascular surgery patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct clinical care to cardiac and general medical patients requiring advanced monitoring.
• Operate advanced cardiac and life-support equipment including CRRT and ventilators.
• Monitor patients using PCI/balloon pump support devices when indicated.
• Serve as clinical leader on the floor and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs and staff.
• Collaborate with Providers and nurse leadership to implement evidence-based care and discharge planning.
• Maintain meticulous electronic documentation of patient status and outcomes.

Overview

A premier hospital organization serving a large regional population is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for its Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This facility offers strong nurse-to-patient ratios that support personalized, high-quality care and fosters a collaborative, safety-focused culture supported by modern medical technology.

What you'll do

• Provide high-quality, direct clinical care to medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients requiring advanced physiological monitoring from admission through discharge.
• Manage and operate advanced cardiac and life-support equipment, including mechanical ventilators, central lines, arterial lines, multiple titration IV pumps, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
• Monitor and manage patients utilizing advanced cardiac assist devices, such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Impella pumps.
• Serve as a clinical leader on the floor, providing direction and collaborative support to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and ancillary hospital staff.
• Collaborate closely with Providers, Charge Nurses, and nurse leadership to implement evidence-based care plans and thorough discharge planning.
• Maintain meticulous, timely electronic documentation of patient status, interventions, and clinical outcomes.

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Montana (or immediate compact/endorsement eligibility).
• Core certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Proven post-graduate clinical practice in an advanced Medical/Surgical unit coupled with recent Critical Care/ICU nursing experience specifically involving cardiovascular surgery patients.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• EPNC and TNCC certifications are highly preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of dedicated Cardiac Surgical ICU experience is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on clinical familiarity with Impella pumps, cardiac balloon pumps, and CRRT equipment is highly desired.
