The role emphasizes accuracy in charting (EPIC), timely patient flow, and good organizational skills. Strong communication and computer skills are essential, with a focus on confidentiality and teamwork

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; courses in medical terminology preferred.
• Experience or training in health unit coordination or medical office settings preferred.
• Proficient in basic computer use and data entry; typing ~25 wpm.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient care coordination.
• Maintain patient charts and ED/EPIC documentation in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and physicians to support patient flow.
• Answer calls promptly and interact professionally with families.
• Monitor supplies, manage scheduling and unit appearance as directed.
• Ensure accurate chart checks and timely updates to patient records.
