Job summary

Edward-Elmhurst Health seeks a Clinical Nurse Educator – Department Based to advance staff education in the CVICU setting. This role balances direct patient care with ongoing staff development, precepting, and bedside just-in-time education to strengthen clinical competence.

The educator collaborates with the Nurse Manager and departmental leadership to tailor education plans, support certification prep, and foster a culture of learning and safety across the unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required or Diploma in Nursing with Bachelor’s in Health-Related Field.
• Masters in Nursing preferred.
• Current Illinois RN licensure and applicable certifications.
• Experience: at least five years of clinical experience in a hospital or academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as needed while delivering bedside education.
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff on the unit.
• Lead and participate in unit in-services and competency activities.
• Partner with Clinical Nurse Manager to assess and address education and performance needs.
• Coordinate onboarding and ongoing education for new hires and staff.
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and evidence-based practice.
