The educator component emphasizes mentoring, competency development, and onboarding across units, with a focus on retention and professional growth. IL licensure and BSN are required, with a nursing leadership mindset preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or Diploma in Nursing with a Bachelor’s in a health-related field.
• Current Illinois nursing license; required specialty certification or certification within one year of role.
• Minimum of five years clinical experience in a hospital, medical center, or academic setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to engage with diverse healthcare teams.
• Proficiency with computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Workday; EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as needed while serving as clinical educator and mentor.
• Act as a resource to staff for just-in-time learning and education delivery.
• Schedule flexibility to provide education across various times and days.
• Mentor/precept new staff and evaluate onboarding experiences.
• Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Manager to identify education and performance needs.
• Drive unit safety, quality outcomes, and patient experience through education.
