Job summary

JBS Foods is seeking a Cut Floor General Foreman in Marshalltown, IA. The role oversees the cut floor production and directs supervisors to meet production targets while ensuring quality, cost control, and on-time delivery.

You will train and develop supervisors, plan work to match schedules, and monitor maintenance and sanitation of equipment and facilities. Strong communication and product knowledge are essential, with 3+ years of supervisory experience in processing plants.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in processing plant environment.
• High school diploma or GED; college training preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of products and production processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the cut floor production and direct supervisors to meet output, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Plan daily work and personnel to align with production schedules.
• Train and develop supervisors to build management depth and teamwork.
• Ensure machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized.
• Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contracts.

General Description: Assist in overviewing entire cut floor production. Direct supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth and develop teamwork to attain department objectives. Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments. Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized. Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions.

Required skills:

• Extensive knowledge of products.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Bi-lingual helpful but not required.
• Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
• Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in processing plant industry.

Education Requirements (if applicable)

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• College training preferred.
