Job summary

JBS Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 1st Shift in Ottumwa, IA. You will lead the Cut Floor team to meet production goals and ensure safety and cleanliness standards.

The role oversees 25-35 hourly direct reports and requires effective communication, conflict resolution, and strong organizational skills. Typical schedule is Mon-Fri with weekends as scheduled, with Fall Saturdays often required.

Position: Production Supervisor – 1st Shift

Salary Class: Exempt

Principle Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed production goals set forth by plant management
• Supervise production employees
• Monitor and ensure proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production employees
• Ensure policy compliance with all production employees
• Perform various duties as assigned

• Ensure compliance with food safety, and all human resources and safety policies

Working Conditions

• Production and maintenance settings
• Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives
• Slippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise

Education

• High School degree or equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field preferred

Experience

1-2 years proven supervisory experience in the Beef or Pork industry preferred

The schedule for this position is typically Mon - Fri. Weekend work required as scheduled. During Fall Season, Saturdays are typically scheduled.
