Would you like to launch your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Hebron site is looking for a new Customs Entry Writer to join our Customs team.

Your Role

Reporting to our Customs Brokerage Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the documentation required by US Customs and Border Protection for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of our importers.

Your Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant customs laws, import regulations, and trade agreements.
  • Review commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other shipping documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify tariff classifications, customs values, and duty calculations to ensure correct tariff rates are applied.
  • Coordinate the clearance of goods through customs and Partner Government Agencies.
  • Resolve issues related to customs delays, fines, regulatory noncompliance, or discrepancies in documentation.
  • Work closely with customs authorities to ensure timely release of goods.
  • Update clients on the status of their shipments and provide solutions for any issues encountered.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions, correspondence, and customs clearance activities.
Your Skills And Experiences
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience as a Customs Brokerage Entry Writer or in a similar customs-related role, with recent experience in entry writing.
  • Familiarity with customs regulations and tariff codes.
  • Basic knowledge of import procedures, customs clearance, and trade regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Experience with customs software and databases, including Cargowise preferred.
