Job summary

Solotech is seeking a US Customs Coordinator to support import-export operations and ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations. You will coordinate with brokers, prepare documentation, and manage weekly transfers to Canada, while maintaining compliance across international operations.

Qualified candidates have CCS, a bachelor's in logistics or related field, and 5+ years in customs. Proficiency in ACE portal, Office 365, and knowledge of AV industry are desirable.

Qualifications

• CCS certification is required or preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in U.S. and international customs operations.
• Experience with import/export processes and tariff classifications.
• Familiarity with ACE portal and customs terminology.
• Proficient in Office 365 applications.
• Knowledge of audio-visual industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand Customs environment: tariff classification, country of origin and related duty applications.
• Calculate duty impact to determine the appropriate type of entry in the U.S.
• Act as primary contact for US Customs operations matters.
• Issue export documentation and follow up on orders shipped from U.S.
• Prepare customs docs for weekly equipment transfers to Canada.
• Prepare all related documents for TIB and ATA Carnets and follow up.
• Assist other international departments with import/export inquiries.
• Verify and approve ACH preliminary report and brokerage invoices.
• Collaborate with freight forwarders and brokers for smooth exports.
• Participate in weekly operational meetings to meet project timelines.
• Update asset data in R2 and advise on moves to remain compliant.
• Improve policies and procedures related to import/export with Global Trade Compliance.
• Perform other duties as required by Customs Manager or Asset Management Director.

The US Customs Coordinator will support import-export operations and ensure adherence to U.S. trade regulations. This role involves coordinating import-export activities,maintainingcompliance documentation, and collaborating with brokers and internal teams for efficient customs clearance.

Primary responsibilities

• UnderstandCustomsenvironment: Productstariff classification, country of origin and related duty applications.
• Calculate duty impact todeterminetheappropriate typeof entry intheU.S.
• Act as the primary contact for US Customs operations matters.
• Issue export documentationand proactively follow-up onall orders shipped out of U.S.including FedEx shipments.
• Prepare customs documentation for theweeklyequipmenttransfers to our Canadian division.
• Demonstrate knowledge of TIB and ATA US Carnets: Prepare all related documents and proactively follow up and close them correctly.
• Assistotherinternationaldepartments with import and export inquiries.

Your profile:

• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)
• Bachelor’degree inlogistics,international business, supply chainmanagementor equivalent qualification withdemonstratedcompetencypreferred.
• Minimumoffive(5)yearsof experienceinU.S. and international
• Customsandimport/export operations.
• Competence in interpreting Customs terminology, clearance process,customsdocumentsand product classification (tariff codes).
• ACE portalexperience user.
• Proficient knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• General technical knowledge of all theaudio-visualindustry(an asset)
• Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset)
