Job summary

The Warehouse Returns Supervisor is responsible for receiving and processing returned orders in a timely and accurate manner while inspecting the quality of the items to determine the correct process for each item. This position will also be required to perform cycle counts on a predetermined cadence to maintain inventory accuracy. This Warehouse Returns Supervisor and department’s work assignments and tasks can change daily based on the immediate needs of Solotech’s operations.

Your day will look like this:
  • Receive, inspect, and return product correctly using proper documents, and scanning while ensuring Solotech’s quality standards procedures.
  • Help coordinate de-prep from receipt to end-department for QC.
  • Scan inventory to designated pickable location.
  • Handle the coordination and metrics when returns will come back to the warehouse and put a plan in place to ensure they are processed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with the appropriate departments on returns and update the inventory system accordingly.
  • Create a plan and schedule using a four-week forecast including volume, labor needed, equipment/totes needed, and any critical issues that the operation may encounter.
  • Collaborating closely with the operational analyst to maintain operational efficiencies.
  • Verify and coordinate that all cables are bundled in the correct quantity and scanned for inventory accuracy. Repair cable as needed.
  • Maintain the efficiencies set in cable bundling while suggesting and implementing return efficiencies in other departments.
  • Monitor the history of the returns and suggest different options for operational efficiency.
  • Verify the accuracy, quality, and completeness of each return before receiving it in Solotech systems.
  • Utilize warehouse equipment to stock inventory on shelves.
  • Keep the warehouse organized and clean; report any damage or hazards to the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Document returns and records operational details for efficiency.
  • Maintaining and updating inventory and returns records.
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between inventory records and physical counts.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and keep inventory spaces organized.
  • Assist in operational projects, changes, and moves.
  • Coordinate, manage and offer the necessary support to the team.
  • Plan and organize the daily activities of their department and prioritize the technicians’ tasks.
  • Establish technicians’ schedules and assign work in an optimal way.
  • Train new hires in processes and procedures for the department.
  • Assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures and KPI’s for the department.
  • Assist in cleaning and managing the overdue report by coordinating with department managers.
  • Certification of steel on return as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Your profile:
  • Bachelors in audiovisual, stage techniques or any other equivalent training
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in live events.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisor experience
  • General technical knowledge of all the following departments (audio, lighting, video and rigging)
  • Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Excellent sense of priorities and schedule management.
  • Highly developed sense of organization.
  • Teamwork oriented.
