Job summary

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, Inc. in Chicago seeks a Customs Brokerage Entry Agent to process import shipments and manage U.S. customs entries from document receipt to release.

Candidates should have 1–3 years in freight forwarding, knowledge of CBP rules, and strong English, with proficiency in Microsoft Office. The role may require Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu shifts. Company benefits include health, 401(k), and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in freight forwarding.
  • Experience in customs brokerage entry writing, including U.S. Customs entries.
  • Ability to work a Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday schedule.
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Perform all functions required by the brokerage department to service the client.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues to provide excellent customer service.
  • Follow up on open issues with client, carrier, forwarder, CBP, or PGA to resolve delays in entry processing.
  • Manage entry process from document receipt to delivery, billing and scanning.
  • Audit documents for accuracy and CBP/PGA compliance.
  • Enter data into brokerage system to achieve full release with CBP and PGA.
  • Coordinate ISF filings with origin station, supplier, or third party.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
