Job summary

Atmos Energy Corporation seeks a Customer Service Representative to handle customer inquiries about service connections, disconnections, billing questions, and payment arrangements. The role is primarily phone-based and uses the Customer Information System to keep accurate records and timely responses.

The position offers a Monday–Friday day shift with attractive benefits from day one. After training, bilingual employees (Spanish–English) receive an extra $2.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Experience with customer service is a plus.
• Proficiency in data entry and using a computer for reference/retrieval tasks.

Responsibilities

• Responds to current and prospective customers regarding basic service connections, disconnections, billing questions and payment arrangements.
• Receives and processes basic transactions and requests based on designated level of authority; forwards other issues as needed.
• Addresses customer issues using company policies and procedures and communicates solutions.
• Corrects errors on customer accounts and communicates accurate information in a timely, professional manner.
• Researches discrepancies on customer accounts and verifies customer identity and delinquent accounts as required.
• Handles customer calls to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and emergency situations, following standard processes.
