Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking a Customer Service Technician to evaluate homeowner repair issues and coordinate warranty repairs across designated communities.

You will perform carpentry, drywall, texture repair, and painting while managing subcontractors and ensuring timely, compliant workmanship. The role requires 3+ years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and strong communication skills to keep homeowners informed and satisfied.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of related experience including carpentry, drywall, texture repair and painting.
• Must have a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and willingness to drive among communities day and night.
• Proficient in positive communications and able to work under pressure.
• Able to use DRH Warranty apps on a smartphone/tablet/laptop and to handle emails.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates homeowner repair issues to determine warranty eligibility.
• Processes work orders and verbal instructions for repairs.
• Performs repairs such as carpentry, drywall, texture repair and painting.
• Schedules subcontractors for warranty repairs and ensures timely completion.
• Ensures repairs meet compliance standards and documents invoicing.

Customer Service Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluates homeowner repair issues to determine if they are warrantable items
• Processes written or electronic work orders and/or verbal instructions from supervisor for homeowner repairs
• Performs necessary repairs to homes such as carpentry work, drywall, texture repair and painting
• Schedules and manages subcontractors to make designated warranty repairs
• Ensure all repairs are completed within compliance standards
• Certifies warranty work is completed within contractor obligations
• Develop and maintain good rapport with subcontractors and homeowners
• Follows up with homeowners to ensure concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner
• Processes charge-back documentation and invoices
• Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to travel overnight

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Three or more years related experience, including carpentry work, drywall, texture repair and painting
• Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies, valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime
• Excel in effective and positive communications
• Work effectively in high pressure situations
• Ability to work independently and be productive without supervision
• Ability to provide a systematic approach in carrying out assignments
• Ability to utilize DRH Warranty applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop
• Proficiency with MS Office and email
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with minor electrical, plumbing and HVAC repair work preferred
