Job summary

Family Dollar in Knox, Indiana, is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience. You will assist customers, process transactions at the cash register, and help maintain a safe, clean store environment.

This role requires the ability to lift 30–50 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods, and follow store procedures with excellent customer service and communication skills. Training and perks are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and meet demands of walking and standing.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment per productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
