Job summary

Family Dollar in Indiana is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to provide a friendly shopping experience and assist customers with questions and recommendations. You will manage sales transactions at the register, maintain store cleanliness, stock replenishment, and support unloading trucks as needed.

You should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior customer service experience in retail or similar environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment per productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash
• Other duties as assigned*
