Job summary

Atlas Roofing Corporation, a leading provider of roofing and insulation products, seeks a Customer Service Specialist in Phoenix, AZ. The role supports the Account Executive team, handling orders from placement to billing, monitoring backorders, and maintaining strong customer relationships in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in customer service or an administrative role, with excellent phone skills and proficiency in ERP (PeopleSoft) and CRM

Customer Service Specialist Primary Responsibilities

• Assists the Account Executive team to provide the best experience possible to external customers that result in win-win solutions for customers and the organization.
• Assists in handling all customer requests promptly managing customer orders from placement through shipment and billing.
• Assists in monitoring backorders, reviews production, scheduling and inventory reports daily, and communicates in a timely manner with customers on backorder situations.
• Adheres to company’s policies and procedures when assisting customers.
• Advises Account Executive, or Customer Service Manager of concerns or issues impacting service.

Customer Service Specialist Experience

• 1+ years of experience in customer service or an administrative role

Customer Service Specialist Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Excellent telephone skills (primary liaison between customer and company)
• Proficient use of data entry software, including experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as PeopleSoft and customer relationship management software such as Salesforce.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Must be able to work well with many types of people. Ability to build rapport and establish successful relationships with internal and external customers.

Customer Service Specialist Education, Licenses & Certifications

• High School diploma or GED

Customer Service Specialist Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Frequently on the phone, selling goods, taking orders, and resolving problems or complaints about the product. They also use web technology, including chat, email, and video conferencing, to contact colleagues and clients.
• General office environment. Comply with safety standards and use of required personal protective equipment in manufacturing areas.
• Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, and lift, carry, push / pull up to 10 pounds.
• Repetitive computer and administrative tasks require constant hand activity, including gripping/ grasping, writing and/or typing.
• Must have the following sensory functions: hearing and speech.
• Fast paced environment.
• Irregular and long hours may be required.
• Some travel required for training at other sister plants, tradeshows attendance, and/or customer visits.
