Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Customer Service Representative to be based in Harvey, Illinois. Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, you will manage all aspects of customer service for the Mechanical business unit, collaborating with customers and teammates to ensure smooth order entry, tracking, invoicing and timely shipment.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of customer service experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years customer service experience, scoped from order entry to post-delivery.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently and/or with little supervision in a team environment.
• Ability to negotiate effectively in stressful situations.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall productivity initiative strengthening year over year.
• Handle all aspects of customer service, including entering, tracking and invoicing orders and releasing material for shipment.
• Heavy communication with customer base via email and telephone to handle orders, inquiries, and follow-up.
• Assist in reviewing and controlling the finished goods inventory level.
• Complete invoices; process deductions; coordinate movement of raw material from fabrication to finished product.
• Interact with internal departments and outside processors as needed.
• Assist on projects as needed; cross-train into other desks for coverage.
• Assist customers in our customer portal with setup and navigation.
