Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a Customer Service Representative for a packaging client on the southwest side of Indianapolis. You will handle inbound calls, process orders, and assist walk-in customers in a fast-paced office environment.

With growth potential into outbound sales development, you may earn additional compensation through commission or pay increases as responsibilities expand over time.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience preferred; strong phone skills and the right attitude considered.
• Background in manufacturing or distribution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound customer calls — order volume varies day to day
• Process orders and assist walk-in customers with product purchases
• Enter and manage orders/customer information in the company's ERP system (Acumatica)
• Resolve existing customer issues and answer product questions
• Field inquiries from new or prospective customers and help educate them on products/services
• Escalate more technical or complex questions to sales reps or senior team members
• As you grow in the role (typically after 6+ months), take on outbound prospecting responsibilities — including cold calling and CRM-based lead development — to help set meetings for the sales team.

About the Opportunity

This role offers a clear path for growth — after building a strong foundation in customer service, there's an opportunity to expand into a sales development/outbound function with earning potential through commission or a pay increase.

What You'll Do

Growth Potential:

This role is designed to grow. As you become established in the customer service function, there's an opportunity to move into an outbound sales development capacity, with additional compensation (raise or commission) tied to that expanded scope.
