Job summary

Aperture Pet & Life in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support customers by phone, email, and live chat, handling orders, returns, and product questions for saltwater and freshwater aquariums.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of customer service, familiarity with reef systems and brands like BRS, Neptune, Ecotech; must be ready to work varied hours including mornings and evenings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of one year of telephone customer service, retail or other related experience.
• Previous experience with saltwater reef systems
• Familiarity with BRS, Neptune Systems and or Ecotech Marine products.
• Familiarity with reverse osmosis and reverse osmosis/de-ionization systems used in the saltwater aquarium industry
• Demonstrated understanding of water elements and their function within the reef aquarium
• Demonstrated working knowledge of equipment utilized in the saltwater aquarium industry
• Ability to learn working and advanced knowledge of our brand products
• Strong customer service orientation and commitment to company core values
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to concentrate on details with interruptions
• Must be willing to work a variety of hours, including Monday–Friday 7 am CST– 9 pm CST

Responsibilities

• Provide support for customers utilizing an in-bound and outbound telephone system, email, fax, live chat, walk-in and will-call
• Answer questions from customers on various aspects of our products, brands, aquariums, reverse osmosis, reef systems or other related questions
• Assist customers with processing their orders, returns, and refunds
• Support customers with technical product questions in a timely manner
• Respond to customer concerns by recommending the best course of action according to department policies
• Participate in continuous education in the saltwater and freshwater aquarium industry
• Participate in team development of quarterly and annual project-based goals

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative to provide timely and accurate assistance to customers with a variety of needs relating to customer orders, aquariums, reef systems, fish, products warranties and the brands we service.

What you’ll do:

• Provide support for customers utilizing an in-bound and outbound telephone system, email, fax, live chat, walk-in and will-call
• Answer questions from customers on various aspects of our products, brands, aquariums, reverse osmosis, reef systems or other related questions.
• Assist customers with processing their orders, returns, and refunds.
• Support customers technical product questions in a timely manner.
• Respond to customer concerns by recommending the best course of action according to established department policies and procedures
• Participate in continuous education in the saltwater and freshwater aquarium industry to include time spent in product research and testing
• Participate in team development of quarterly and annual project-based goals and perform self-directed activities to support completion of goals.

What we require in education, experience and skills:

• High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of one year of telephone customer service, retail or other related experience
• Previous experience with saltwater reef systems
• Familiarity with BRS, Neptune Systems and or Ecotech Marine products.
• Familiarity with reverse osmosis and reverse osmosis/de-ionization systems utilized in the saltwater aquarium industry
• Demonstrated understanding of water elements and their function within the reef aquarium
