Job summary

Best Block Company is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our on-site team. You will be the primary contact for walk-in and call-in customers, provide technical assistance, and ensure accurate order entry and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities include building customer relationships, coordinating with dispatch, managing inventory, and maintaining product knowledge. A High School Diploma is required, with basic Excel/Outlook skills and 40+ hours weekly availability.

• Physical: lift 25 lbs regularly; 50+ lbs occasionally.
• Inside sales experience or building materials familiarity a plus.

• Assist with Centralized Dispatch and fleet compliance.

About The Role

As a Customer Service Representative with Best Block you are responsible for:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound customers (walk-in and call-in)
• Provide technical assistance for installing and maintaining the products we sell
• Accurate and detailed order entry, input customer information, pricing and additional data
• Build and maintain relationships with repeat customer and accounts
• Coordinate closely with dispatch to schedule deliveries and manage customer expectations
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding order status, lead times and changes
• Perform monthly inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records
• Balance cash drawer and create cash & credit card reports daily
• Work with outside sales representatives to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain knowledge of products and their applications and know major competitor product lines.
• Assist with Centralized Dispatch and maintain delivery fleet compliance requirements

About You

• Minimum education required: High School Diploma with average to above math skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Available to work 40 or more hours per week
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills and high attention to detail
• Good interpersonal and customer relation skills
• Must be able to walk throughout material yards
• Physical demands include the ability to lift 25 lbs on a consistent basis and 50 lbs or more on a random basis. Should be able to stand, sit and walk for long periods of time.
• Inside sales experience is a plus
• Experience in building materials industry is also a plus
