Responsibilities

  • Checks availability and registers individuals over the phone or in person for a program, activity, class, or membership.
  • Checks availability and assists individuals over the phone or in person with facility reservations.
  • Explains rules and policies.
  • Obtains necessary contact information from customer.
  • Collects and enters payments, balances drawer, and submits cash journal reports.
  • Contact customers when issues arise.
  • Communicates with Building Services staff regarding rental changes.
  • Maintains clean and organized workspace.
  • Answers phone, email, and assists walk-in visitors.
  • Follows up with renters and customers who have balances and paperwork due.
  • Scans and files documents.

Job description

The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation department is currently accepting applications for a Customer Service Representative to work out of the Rec Center and Old Town Activity Center facilities The ideal candidate will have previous customer service and public relations experience and possess the following qualities Shows initiativeCompletes tasks quickly and correctlyEnjoys interacting with patronsHas previous customer service or public relations experienceWants to join a fun supportive team

Position Summary

Serves as the primary contact for all aspects of registering individuals for programs memberships activities classes and festivals and all aspects of reserving indoor and outdoor facilities

Schedule

This year round position averages 20 hours per week and offers a flexible schedule generally Monday through Friday between 8 am and 6 pm The position also requires availability to work scheduled City events which may occur outside of regular business hours

Availability Monday through Friday from 800 AM to 600 PM flexibility for scheduled City events

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least two years of customer service experience

The rate of pay is 1896 per hour

Physical and Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a busy environment This position requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods; mobility to move about the parks and recreation facilities as needed; and visual acuity to review information for accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned

Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing a drug screen and background check.
