Job summary

MG Automation & Controls is seeking an Associate to join our Customer Service team in Birmingham, AL. You will support order entry, expediting, warehouse and general service functions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion while working independently and with the team.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to balance multiple tasks, including handling inquiries from customers and vendors and assisting with inventory for custom assemblies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is desired, not required.
• Experience in a customer service setting is a plus.
• Strong communication skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle pre-sales quotes and assist with order entry and vendor POs as needed.
• Review orders to ensure on-time product delivery.
• Resolve customer problems by clarifying complaints and providing solutions.
• Manage large volumes of emails and calls from customers and vendors.
• Identify customer needs to achieve satisfaction and trust.
• Assist in inventory tasks: pulling, counting, and organizing components.
• Follow procedures and policies; participate in special projects.

Summary

This role is for the Associate to join our Customer Service team, sharing the critical role of servicing our customers through order entry, expediting, warehouse, and general service functions. The Associate will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of these functions while being adept at working both independently and with team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for pre-sales quotes and may need to assist in entering orders, including the placement of vendor purchase orders if necessary.
• Reviews and monitors each order to ensure timely product delivery.
• Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.
• Manage large amounts of incoming emails and calls from customers and vendors.
• Identify and assess customers' needs to achieve satisfaction.
• Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication.
• Assist in managing inventory, including pulling, counting, and organizing components for custom assemblies and production orders.
• Handle complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits, and follow up to ensure resolution.
• Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies.
• Special projects as required.
