Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring an Emergency Dispatch Operator. You will monitor alarms, respond to signals, and provide exceptional customer service. The role includes making outbound verification calls and notifying authorities as needed.

A five-week training program prepares you for the duties, and bilingual Spanish-English applicants receive additional compensation. Promotional opportunities are available after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in customer service is required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to type 20–25 words per minute or more.
• Working knowledge of basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to alarms and signals while providing strong customer service.
• Make outgoing calls to verify alarms, dispatch authorities, and notify responsible parties.
• Document alarm handling procedures and complete alarm processing according to SOPs.

Emergency Dispatch Operator (EDO)

Promotional opportunities are available after 90 days. The hourly wage ranges from $14 to $16, depending on experience. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish and English are encouraged to apply and will receive additional compensation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• You will be responsible for monitoring and responding to alarms and signals while providing exceptional customer service.
• Make outgoing calls to verify alarms and signals, dispatch authorities, and notify responsible parties.
• Document alarm handling procedures and complete alarm processing as per standard operating procedures.

You will carry out your responsibilities by:

Participating in a comprehensive five-week interactive training program designed to prepare you for the role and introduce you to exciting opportunities. During this training, you will develop the skills necessary to succeed.

Required

• Must be 18 years old
• Customer service experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to type between 20-25 wpm
• Basic knowledge of computer applications

Preferred

• Strong problem-solving skills
• High School Diploma or GED

Candidates must have the ability to work under pressure, demonstrate punctuality, and uphold strong work ethics. And they must be willing to perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires you to maintain the necessary licensing as part of the job requirements.
