Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Associate to serve as the primary point of contact for customers, manage stocking and merchandising, and support sales floor operations. You will unload deliveries, stock shelves, assist shoppers, and operate the cash register with basic math and cash handling skills.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to plan-of-gram guidance, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexible hours and a base of store duties are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to itemize and total purchases.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Maintain clean store front and assist with sidewalk displays.
