Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the primary customer contact and to support merchandising, stocking, and cash handling. You will unload deliveries, build displays, assist shoppers, and maintain cleanliness across the store floor.

The role requires attention to plan-o-grams, basic math, and effective communication. Responsibilities include operating the cash register, bagging items, and providing friendly service to customers throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise on the floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays per plan-o-grams.
• Assist customers in locating products on shelves.
• Operate cash register, scan items and bag purchases.
• Collect payments and make change as needed.
• Restock and straighten backroom inventory.
• Clean front end and maintain store appearance.
• Help set up sidewalk displays when required.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
