Job Description

Summary: Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
3. Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
4. Maintains awareness of donor reactions during or after pheresis and notifies staff as needed.
5. Uses PDA to record incidents such as machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
6. Links equipment and supplies to the donor using PDA.
7. Alerts supervisor of donor flow issues.
8. Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
9. Understands policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
10. Maintains a clean work environment and ensures supplies are available.
11. Follows all HSE & OSHA policies, promoting safety.
12. Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
13. May be cross-trained in other areas.
14. Bilingual skills may be required.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 months’ experience, preferably in a medical or health environment.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions: Ability to follow instructions, observe equipment, and communicate effectively. Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds. Fast-paced environment with exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, bloodborne pathogens, and extended hours.
