The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors.

The Role

1. Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
3. Disconnects the donor upon completion of the process.
4. Maintains awareness of donor reactions during or after the process and notifies staff accordingly.
5. Records incidents during pheresis using PDA, including alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
6. Links equipment and soft goods to the donor in the system.
7. Alerts supervisors of donor flow issues.
8. Ensures accurate recording of donor data as per SOPs.
9. Understands policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
10. Maintains a clean work environment and ensures supplies are available.
11. Follows health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting safety.
12. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
13. May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
14. Bilingual skills may be required.
15. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• At least three months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment, or equivalent education and experience.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions

• Ability to follow instructions and guidelines.
• Must see and speak with customers, observe equipment.
• Stand and walk up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, manual dexterity required.
• Lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Exposure to chemicals, temperatures, blood-borne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
