Job Description

Summary: Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
3. Disconnects the donor upon completion of the process.
4. Maintains awareness of donor reactions during or after pheresis and notifies staff accordingly.
5. Uses PDA to record incidents such as machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
6. Links equipment and soft goods to the donor using PDA.
7. Alerts supervisor of donor flow issues.
8. Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system as per SOPs.
9. Understands policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
10. Maintains a clean work environment and ensures supplies are available.
11. Follows all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
12. Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
13. May be cross-trained in other areas and may require bilingual skills.
14. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 months in a medical or health environment or equivalent experience. Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions: Ability to follow instructions, observe equipment, perform tasks standing/walking, reach, bend, kneel, lift up to 25 pounds, work in a fast-paced environment, and wear PPE as needed. Overtime may be required.
