Job summary

The Kroger Baytown location is seeking a Customer Service/Cashier associate to assist customers, operate the checkstand, and uphold store standards at 6315 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521. The role emphasizes honesty, integrity, and safety in daily tasks.

Responsibilities include delivering outstanding service, handling refunds and payments, and supporting store initiatives in a fast-paced environment. On-site position with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months cashier experience for Customer Service Desk.
• Minimum 18 years of age (19 in some states for tobacco).
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects.
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures and structure.
• Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions, including open/close register and tender transactions.
• Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to standards.
• Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies.
• Promote and follow Company initiatives.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated or removed at POS.
• Respond to EAS activations and tag removal as needed.
• Maintain all store accounting functions.
• Prepare bank deposit of excess funds.
