Job summary

Modern Builders Supply, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service representative to respond to customer inquiries, process orders, and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors.

You will document interactions in our CRM and collaborate with suppliers to provide product information and training. Ideal candidates will have prior customer service or retail experience and a basic knowledge of building products.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or retail sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building products/roofing industry preferred.
• Microsoft Outlook and CRM systems experience helpful.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and meet targets.

Responsibilities

As Customer Service, a few of your responsibilities will include:

• Providing professional customer interaction by responding to questions and assist with ordering via phone and email
• Documenting interactions with customers and vendors within our CRM
• Partnering with vendors for training and product information
• Following up on orders to manage tracking information, product returns, and filing claims for damaged merchandise
• Proactively reaching out to potential customers via phone and email
• Maintaining the overall customer experience while on our website

Successful candidates must be work oriented, have initiative, ambition, and a desire to learn the business from the ground up.

Essential Functions Of Position

Customer Service

• Answer incoming calls and emails in an efficient manner
• Identify and handle customer questions, concerns, and overall needs
• Provide accurate answers and solutions to customer queries
• Enter and process new orders from customers
• Maintain customer and contact data in our CRM system

Sales

• Emphasize product/service features and benefits
• Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by proactive phone sales if necessary
• Determine what the customer is looking for and what features are most important to them
• Review industry related literature to gain an understanding of the various markets, potential customers, market direction, and competitors

Knowledge Of

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Company policies, procedures, and overall mission and vision
• Building products/roofing industry preferred
• Products and a basic knowledge of sales and customer service principles
