Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Customer Service Representative in the United States (Virginia). The role involves handling customer inquiries, processing orders, and providing quotes while maintaining strong relationships with customers.

You will coordinate with account reps to ensure satisfaction and optimize pricing within policy constraints. Under close supervision, you will focus on accurate order entry, inventory coordination, and timely shipping.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and 0–3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Reliability, organization, and attention to detail are essential.
• Strong communication skills including written and verbal communication.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Responds to basic customer inquiries regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
• Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in (counter sales).
• Influences gross profit through negotiating sale and purchase prices within set parameters.
• Adjusts non-contract pricing to meet customer needs while maximizing profit.
• Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business and improve processes.
• Ensures inventory levels are maintained for customers and sources products in various inventories.
• Determines cost-effective shipping methods for customer orders.
• Partners with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Expedites backorders and prepares orders for shipment.
• May handle customer returns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
