Job summary

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Service Associate (Teller) to join our team. The role focuses on providing high quality customer service, accurately completing bank transactions, and suggesting products to meet customers' financial needs.

You will balance cash, assist with banking center openings/closes, and participate in a high performing sales environment with referrals, product knowledge, and ongoing coaching.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 3 months of sales, cash handling, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests for banking transactions.
• Answer customer inquiries and problems with solutions that meet the customer’s current needs.
• Continually build customer loyalty and customer advocates.
• Balance cash, daily transactions, vault and ATM.
• Understand and ensure compliance, regulations and reporting.
• Follow information security policy and verification procedures to protect customer privacy.
• Assist with opening and/or closing banking center.
• Actively participate in a high performing sales environment by: selling bank products, making customer referrals and other activities to support the goals.
• Know about all bank products.
• Participate in daily/weekly meetings and coaching sessions.
