Job summary

Citi Trends, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain knowledge of merchandise. The role requires a proactive, vigilant approach in a fast-paced retail environment.

The Sales Associate will support the Store Operations department, assist with pricing, handle cash and card transactions, and help maintain inventory and store appearance while following loss prevention procedures. Equal employment opportunity employer. Location: In Store.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions and operate cash register accurately.
• Assist with price changes and markdowns.
• Balance cash drawer and handle payments securely.
• Bags merchandise efficiently when completing a customer's transaction.
• Handle all cash, checks and credit cards correctly and by company policy.
• Obtain management approval when needed for returns, voids and checks.
• Assist with maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Provide proper customer service such as greeting customers, abides by fitting room policies, rings customer in a timely fashion, thanks customer for shopping at store and invites them to return.
• Explain exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
• Assist Store Manager with Loss Prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting incidents of theft or dishonesty and following all current operational policies.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
