Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is hiring a Retail Cashier for the Manchester Store in Manchester, MO. The role supports the mission of changing lives through the power of work, delivering friendly customer service, accurate cash handling, and neat store presentation.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, basic math skills, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment. This hourly full-time position pays $15.50 per hour with a monthly bonus up to $250 and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• No degree required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
• Mathematical skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and acknowledge them as they enter the store; assist on the sales floor and answer the phone professionally.
• Operate the store cash register; handle cash, credit card transactions, discounts and returns; balance the register.
• Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain cleanliness of the store area.
• Request assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
• Uphold store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
• Build positive relationships with team members and leadership; work cross-functionally to improve communication.
• Follow safe work practices and keep aisles clear and hazard-free.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Safeguard assets including cash and donated items; report incidents of theft or loss.
• All other duties as assigned.
