Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to act as the primary point of contact for customers and to help maintain plan-o-grams and programs. You will stock merchandise, assist customers, and operate the cash register to complete transactions while promoting a clean, organized store.

The role involves unloading trucks, building displays, restocking, and following company procedures to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Willingness to relocate is not required.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases.
• Collect payment and provide change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays.
