Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers, stock and merchandise, and maintain plan‑o‑grams to optimize product presentation. You will greet customers, assist with locating merchandise, and support efficient checkout.

You will unload trucks, build displays, restock items, keep front end clean, and follow policies to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication required.
• Ability to follow plan-o-gram and merchandise guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock or move merchandise.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Process payments and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep store front clean and assist with sidewalk displays.
