Job summary

Hy-Vee Market Grille is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to join our busy store kitchen. You will greet customers, take orders, and manage daily prep and replenishment in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes accurate POS handling, safety, and teamwork to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

You'll work as part of a dedicated team, maintain cleanliness and safety standards, and support other store areas as needed. Training is provided, and prior food service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.
• Ability to take orders, handle POS transactions, and greet customers with a friendly attitude.
• Adhere to hygiene, safety standards, and Hy-Vee policies throughout shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare/replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer for cooking and ensure adequate supply.
• Handle food safely and monitor freshness and appearance of food.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area; wash dishes and take out trash as needed.
• Run the department register, process payments, and provide accurate change.
• Assist in other store areas and participate in special projects as assigned.
