Hy-Vee is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to join the Market Grille team. You will serve customers, take orders, and help ensure fast, friendly service in a busy store kitchen environment.

The role emphasizes food safety, order accuracy, and teamwork as you support daily operations and occasional special projects. Training is provided, with a supportive work atmosphere and a focus on customer happiness.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service at the Market Grille counter.
• Take customer orders and answer the telephone promptly, assist with product orders.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking; ensure sufficient stock.
• Handle food safely and monitor freshness of food.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area during shifts.
• Check in product, store it properly, and review invoices as needed.
• Operate the department register, accept payments, and make change as needed.
• Remove trash and wash dishes; ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
