Job summary

NYWDS is seeking a dependable Laundry Attendant to join our full-service laundromat team in New York. This role blends cleaning, customer service, and front-counter duties to ensure every customer has an excellent experience.

Expect a 5-day schedule with shifts from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break. You will support cleaning, assist customers with machines and cards, and process orders with accuracy and a friendly attitude.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and dependable.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Comfortable using a computer and POS system.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Experience in cleaning, hospitality, retail, laundromat or customer service is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors, folding tables, seating areas, restrooms, and customer spaces.
• Wipe down washers, dryers, soap dispensers, and machine surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize the facility throughout the shift.
• Clean lint traps, filters, and lint collectors.
• Organize laundry carts and keep the laundromat neat and presentable.
• Restock cleaning supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
• Report maintenance, equipment, or safety issues promptly.
• Assist customers with carrying laundry and locating available machines.
• Help customers understand and use our laundromat card system for operating washers and dryers.
• Answer questions and assist customers throughout the laundry process.
• Troubleshoot basic customer issues related to machine usage and payment cards.
• Provide friendly, professional service at all times.
• Accept wash-and-fold, laundry, and dry-cleaning orders.
• Enter customer orders accurately into our POS system.
• Tag and organize incoming orders.
• Process customer pickups and ensure completed orders are returned to the correct customer.
• Follow company procedures when inspecting and receiving garments.
