Job summary

McCoy's Building Supply is seeking a Sales Associate in Paris, TX to assist customers with purchasing merchandise and to provide excellent service on the store floor. You will greet customers, explain product options, and process transactions while building lasting relationships with shoppers.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), strong communication skills, and the ability to operate a POS system and UPC scanner. Training is provided, with typical full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• On-the-job training with Levels 1 and 2 offered.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math and ability to make change.
• Knowledge of building products and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers, understanding their needs.
• Explain merchandise and suggest suitable options.
• Quote prices and credit terms; prepare sales orders.
• Retrieve merchandise and place special orders when needed.
• Enter customer data into the database and manage records.
• Resolve customer complaints and escalate when needed.
• Operate cash register and process payments accurately.
• Handle returns and exchanges per store policy.
• Assist with stocking and housekeeping; other duties as assigned.
